UPDATE: The victim of a deadly motorcycle crash near Southwest 107th and Western Avenue has been identified as a local high school student.

The teen victim is a Westmoore High School student who is under the age of 18, according to Lt. Trevor Taylor with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The crash occurred around 12:22 p.m. at SW 107th and Western.

The student was riding a motorcycle north on Western when an SUV pulled out from a private drive on the east side of Western into his path.

The motorcycle collided with the SUV.

The victim may have died instantly, according to police.

Moore Public Schools issued the following statement about the student’s death:

“This afternoon, Moore Public Schools experienced the tragic death of a Westmoore High School student. The MPS family now grieves this terrible loss. To assist and support our Westmoore family, the MPS Mental Health Team is available on-site at WHS through the final day of school tomorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members affected by this severe loss.”

Investigators did not comment on the condition of the driver, but said they do not believe the driver was injured.

It has not been determined if charges will be filed

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City authorities are working a fatality accident near SW 109th and Western Ave. Thursday afternoon.

Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department say this is a car vs. motorcycle incident.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
