One killed in deadly accident along I-40

EL RENO, Okla. (KFOR) – Authorities say one person has died following an accident early Tuesday morning.

Around 5 a.m., emergency crews were called to an accident involving a semi-truck along I-40 in El Reno.

Initial reports indicate that one person was killed in the crash.

At this point, troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.

Investigators say a semi-truck was parked on the shoulder of I-40 as a 2010 Toyota Prius left the roadway and hit the back of the semi-truck.

Officials believe the cause of the crash was inattention, and say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

So far, the driver’s name has not been released.
