OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Authorities are investigating after a body was found inside a burning car on Monday.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oklahoma City police were called to a car on fire in the 1800 block of Belle Isle.
When fire crews arrived on the scene, they realized there was a body inside the burning vehicle.
“Employees were notified that there was a possible vehicle on fire. Employees, I believe it was security here in the parking lot, security notified 911. Fire arrived, extinguished what they believed to be a fire or some embers inside the vehicle and the person was located inside the vehicle,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Homicide detectives are investigating the death, and it will be up to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the victim’s cause and manner of death.
