UPDATE: A person is dead after a Thursday afternoon shooting at an Oklahoma City residence, according to police.

Oklahoma City Police Department officials confirmed on social media that the victim, a male, died at a hospital after being shot several times at Southwest 42nd and Linn.

He was pronounced dead just before 1 p.m., according to Sgt. Dillon Quirk.

No information has been provided about a potential suspect.

“Right now the investigation is early, it’s ongoing. We have some witnesses detained and investigators piecing together what exactly happened here today,” Quirk said.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Authorities are investigating a shooting in southwest Oklahoma City.

Around 12 p.m. on Thursday, emergency crews were called to a reported shooting near S.W. 42nd and Linn Ave.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

At this point, it is unclear if there are any suspects in custody.
