LOVE COUNTY– The Attorney General’s office announced Tuesday, the filing for removal and arrest of Joe Russell, the Love County Sheriff.
The Multicounty Grand Jury, issued the accusation for removal based on evidence of corruption in office, habitual or willful neglect of conduct and willful maladministration.
In the Multicounty Grand Jury indictment it is alleged that Russell knowingly allowed a woman with warrants to live in his home.
It also says he allowed someone to keep and use methamphetamine while staying at his residence.
The indictment also alleges Russell allowed Love County jail inmate to meet with family members in a room where evidence is stored, unsupervised.
He is scheduled for arraignment on July 26th.
