HARRAH, Okla. -- Residents say a pack of stray dogs has invaded the Country Haven Trailer Park.

"They have bitten my niece and other kids here," Bradley Rushing said.

"They bit a little girl on the face and the arm and other little girls when they got out the car with pizzas," Gerald Voss said.

Monday, the battle with the unwanted dogs escalated when some neighbors said one resident brutally stabbed one of the animals.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's report states, "(The man)...grabbed the lab by his neck...stabbed the dog once in the left side over its back leg."

That suspect is Voss' son.

Other eyewitnesses said the dog had just attacked a child and was attacking another pet when the man started throwing objects at it.

"He wasn't intentionally trying to hurt the dog or anything. He threw it because it was after one of his kids so he was in fear for his life," Rushing said.

"He was about 15 yards away when he threw something at it. He only wanted to get the dog away," Voss said.

The four people who called police about the incident didn't want to talk on camera.

Neither did the owner who talked to us through her window.

She did tell us the dog has a bandage.

Officials have not released the man's name.

Mark Myers with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office said, "An arrest has not been made but the deputy is working up charges to present to the Oklahoma District Attorney's Office. From there it will be up to the D.A. whether or not to file charges."

Voss' son doesn't live in the mobile home park and doesn't plan to come back.

While many residents want the dogs to leave; Voss insists no one wants to hurt them.

"I'm sorry the dog got hurt but when an animal is aggressive like that, it either needs to be dealt with or be gone. It was dealt with but maybe not in the best way."
