OKLAHOMA CITY -- A mother of eight was recently robbed of her paycheck outside a food mart on SE 44th St. in Oklahoma City.
Bufford Wilson, 52, is accused of the crime and he is no stranger to law enforcement in Oklahoma.
Silvia Hernandez had just cashed her check at the store when she said, by force and fear, Wilson took her hard-earned money.
"She got in her car and he opened the door, and that's when he slammed her," Silvia’s friend said. "He grabbed her by the shirt and pushed her to her seat, and that's when it happened.”
Scared and not knowing what else to do, Silvia said she gave Wilson all of her money, $422 in all.
Soon after, police arrested Wilson, who was already wanted for several other violent crimes.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Wilson has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 1986. He has already spent years in prison for robbery.
"It makes her sad to see people like that. They should work for what they want," Silvia’s friend told NewsChannel 4.
After Wilson was arrested, Silvia got her money back.
Wilson is in the Oklahoma County Jail.
Jail officials told us his bond is around $700,000.
