BRONX, N.Y. – One man was arrested after he allegedly beat his wife’s would-be rapist to death, police said Tuesday.
A 51-year-old woman was inside her apartment in the Bronx when a man forced his way in and attempted to rape her, PIX 11 reports.
The man allegedly struck the woman, causing contusions to her forehead and ripped her clothing off.
Police say that during the attack, the woman was able to call her husband, 61-year-old Mamadou Diallo, who was outside of the apartment at the time.
Diallo rushed into the sixth-floor apartment and punched the suspect multiple times.
When authorities arrived, they found the suspect, 43-year-old Earl D. Nash, with severe head and body trauma.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Diallo was arrested for manslaughter.
