STILLWATER, Okla. – One man was arrested after police say he intentionally hit a motorcyclist and two motorcycles in Stillwater.

Early Sunday morning, police rushed to the area near 8th and Washington after learning about multiple people being hit by a truck.

Witnesses also reported hearing gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found two damaged motorcycles and one injured motorcyclist lying in the road.

Witnesses told police that a man driving a pickup truck ran a red light and almost hit the three motorcyclists. As the truck continued southbound, a motorcyclist pulled alongside the truck and confronted the driver.

At that point, witnesses say the driver put the truck in reverse and hit two of the motorcycles and one motorcyclist.

As the pickup left the scene, the injured motorcyclist fired multiple shots at the truck. However, no one was hit.

The driver of the pickup was eventually found after running off the road.

Police arrested 22-year-old Nicholas Thompson for driving under the influence and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The injured motorcyclist, who was identified as 39-year-old Jim Tillotson, was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The district attorney will determine if Tillotson will face a weapons charge.
