OKLAHOMA CITY – A 23-year-old man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a police officer.
On May 16, an officer said he spotted a pickup truck speeding along Martin Luther King Blvd.
According to the arrest affidavit, before the officer could catch up to the pickup truck, the truck crashed.
As the driver crawled out of the side window, he attempted to run, according to officers.
When the officer caught up with the driver, 23-year-old Davyon Judy put up his hands “in a boxing stance.”
The officer bear hugged Judy to the ground and attempted to put him in handcuffs.
However, Judy “swung his elbow back, hitting” the officer in the head.
Judy continued to flee, but was eventually taken into custody by another officer.
He was not wearing any shoes and complained that his feet were hurting, so he was taken to OU Medical Center.
Judy was arrested for assault and battery on a police officer, driving under the influence, transporting an open container, obstructing an officer, speeding, making an improper right turn and driving under suspension.
