OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man is facing charges of child abuse after allegedly attacking a teenage boy.

On Monday, officers responded to a welfare check call.

When they arrived, they met a teenage boy who said that he had been attacked by his mother’s boyfriend.

According to the arrest affidavit, the teen said as he was walking to his room, 51-year-old Leonard Kennard punched him in the face.

Officers say the victim’s glasses broke during the fight and he had visible marks on his face.

The teen’s sister and mother said they tried to intervene and pull Kennard off of the boy.

During the struggle, the affidavit claims the girl was elbowed in the face as she tried to pull Kennard off of her brother.

Kennard told police that he didn’t do anything and that the boy “jumped him.”

Kennard was arrested on charges of two counts of child abuse, domestic assault and battery and two counts of assault and battery.
