Man arrested for impersonating Tulsa Police Officer

TULSA, Okla. – A man was arrested after police said he was caught impersonating an officer.

Allen Cottrell, 64, was armed while walking outside his home on Friday near 49th Street and Peoria Avenue, according to KJRH.

When officers arrived, they discovered Cottrell was carrying an authentic Tulsa Police badge and intoxicated.

Cottrell claimed he was wearing the badge and a pistol to scare his neighbors during an argument.

Police arrested Cottrell on the scene. He faces several charges including carrying a firearm while intoxicated and false impersonation of a city officer.
