Police said Damon Perry, 23, beat one of his friends to death after he thought his friend was turning into a zombie.

GRANTS, N.M. – A 23-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly beating one of his friends to death after binge-watching “The Walking Dead.”

According to KOAT, Damon Perry and his friend, Christopher Paquin, were watching “The Walking Dead” together.

Perry told authorities that he believed Paquin was turning into a zombie and was about to bite him.

Officers say Perry beat Paquin until he was unconscious. At that point, they claim he hit Paquin with a microwave and a guitar before stabbing him with a knife.

“In my 13 years of doing this, that was the most brutal scene I have ever seen,” said Moses Marquez, the spokesperson for the Grants Police Department. “There are some things in this case I don’t think we’ll ever know, like when the microwave was used, when the guitar was used and when the knives came into play.”

Perry told investigators that they were drinking a lot of alcohol prior to the attack.
