Police are looking for two women accused of abusing and neglecting a 60-year-old man.

The victim was so malnourished his face resembled a skeleton, police said.

Seven people lived in the three-bedroom apartment where the abuse took place, including three children.

The family no longer lives there and their neighbors are glad.

"So close to home? It doesn't make me feel very good. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to move now," Jeremy Roseberry said.

Jonathan Benfield and Jennifer and Amanda Lay are facing a charge of neglect and abuse by a caretaker.

According to an affidavit, the victim was “in serious medical distress in terrible conditions”.

Police said there was “feces throughout the apartment” and flies were everywhere.

Additionally, police found a “bucket almost full of human feces”.

"I did happen to witness when they were cleaning out the apartment. How. It was pretty disgusting," Roseberry said.  "Fleas galore. I mean you could actually almost see them hopping out the front door. You could smell it from here. It was horrible.”

There was no food found in the apartment and no running water or electricity, police said.

The half paralyzed victim was emaciated and “unkempt”. Health officials said his behavior was cooperative and tearful.

It is heartbreaking news to former neighbors who hope those responsible are made accountable.

"I hope they get picked up and they can actually get help because they need it. They need it," Roseberry said.

No word on where the man or the children living in the apartment were taken.

News Channel 4 tried reaching out to the suspects in this case but had no response on Friday.

Benfield has been arrested in the case. Jennifer and Amanda Lay have warrants out for their arrest.
