OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are investigating a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Oklahoma City.

Around 5:45 a.m., a man left his apartment at the Southern Oaks Apartments in the 4500 block of S. Woodward to walk to the store.

Police say the man’s friends who were inside the apartment heard gunshots and called police.

When the gunshots stopped, the man’s friends stepped outside to find him lying down in the courtyard of the complex.

The man appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

An hour later, the man was pronounced dead.

Authorities identified the victim as 30-year-old Mike Chau.

His friends told police that they are not sure who would have shot him because the man did not have any “beef” with anyone.

Another man was seen running away from the scene shortly after the shooting.

However, police officers say they only have a very vague description of the alleged suspect.

Authorities are investigating.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the homicide tip-line at (405)297-1200.
