BIXBY, Okla. – One person was killed in a deadly house fire in Bixby Labor Day morning.

Firefighters battled the flames for about 45 minutes before finally getting the upper hand. They had to get into the home through a front window.

That’s when they found a man unconscious in the front room.

Paramedics were not able to save him.

Two women who were also inside the home managed to escape.

The man’s name hasn’t been released but neighbors say he was in his 40s and lived with his mother and girlfriend.

They said he got out of the house but went back in for an unknown reason.

No word yet what started the fire.
