OKLAHOMA CITY – A man is recovering after being tossed into a garbage truck during Monday morning’s trash pick up.
Oklahoma City firefighters were called to a Waste Management truck near N.W. 8th St. and Lee Ave. just before 7 a.m. on Monday.
Officials say a man was sleeping in a dumpster when the garbage truck picked it up.
At the next stop, the driver learned that a person was inside the truck and immediately called 911.
Fortunately, fire crews were able to rescue the man, putting him in a stokes basket to get him out of the truck.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
