HOUSTON, Texas – A man in his 20s was hospitalized after he was allegedly shot over the way he was treating an animal.
Police told KPRC that a man in his 60s spotted the younger man beating a dog and tried to stop him.
Investigators say a fight broke out between the two men.
At some point, the older man shot the other man in the neck.
The victim is expected to survive, and the suspected shooter is not being charged with a crime.
Instead, police say they consider this a case of self-defense.
