OKLAHOMA CITY – One man was taken into custody after leading officers on a chase Thursday afternoon.

Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department attempted to pull over a car for a traffic violation near N.W. 63rd and Broadway.

However, the driver refused to stop and led officers and deputies on a chase in northwest Oklahoma City.

The driver led along  I-44 and eventually crossed onto the Hefner Parkway.

Police say he exited the highway on N.W. 50th and crashed near N.W. 51st St. and Summit.

The driver tried to hide in a nearby neighborhood but was eventually captured near a vacant house.

Officers say they do not know why the driver refused to stop, but say they found a package inside the car that they believe contains some form of narcotics.
