SUMPTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 49-year-old Michigan man is facing murder charges after allegedly causing a deadly car accident.
Police tell WDIV that 49-year-old Charles James Cahill, Jr. was speeding when he rear-ended a minivan carrying five people, including three children.
At the scene, Cahill reportedly tested three times the legal limit while paramedics rushed a 12-year-old girl in the minivan to the hospital.
Tragically, she passed away from her injuries.
Authorities say this is not the first time Cahill has allegedly driven drunk.
Cahill has 12 prior drunken driving convictions and his license was revoked in 1990.
He is now facing a murder charge for the latest crash.
