BETHEL ACRES, Okla. – Authorities in Pottawatomie County are battling a large grass fire that is tearing through an open area.
Firefighters were called to a wildfire near Bethel Rd. and Lake Rd. shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday.
Currently, the roads are blocked in the area because officers are concerned about the thick smoke and the possibility of the fire crossing the road.
The area is located 1 mile north of Bethel Acres High School.
Officials say the fire has already consumed hay bales and burned at least 100 acres in the Bethel Acres area.
