MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - Police in Midwest City are searching for a killer.

Investigators hope new surveillance video will shed some light on the murder.

Earlier this week, a 24-year-old died in a drive by shooting along N.E. 23rd St.

Surveillance video shows the suspect and victim driving next to each other just seconds before the fatal gunshots.

"There was a car in front of me and there was a car, he was putting on his brakes beside that car. And next thing you know, they started shooting," said the witness in a 911 call.

"Witnesses did observe what happened during the shooting. One in particular called 911, but failed to leave a name or call back number," said Sgt. Kyle Crusoe, with the Midwest City Police Department.

Police now want to track that witness down, hoping she has more information that could lead to an arrest.

"You know, having those details could crack the case wide open," said Crusoe.

Police say the victim, Robert Pennington, died behind the wheel and crashed his car near Sooner Rd.

Unfortunately, no arrests have been made.

"Anytime someone dies, it's tragic and we'd like to pursue the investigation, find the people that did this and make our community a little safer and get that person off the street," said Crusoe.

The victim crashed his car with a passenger inside.

That passenger did survive but has not been able to help police make an arrest.

Anyone with information on the case can contact the Midwest City Police Department.
