MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – Midwest City police are still searching for a suspect accused of shooting a convenience store clerk to death during an armed robbery.

Early Saturday morning, an African-American male walked into the GI’s Market at 10001 N.E. 10th Street.

Officials say the suspect loitered inside the store for a while before withdrawing a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, and demanding money.

The store clerk, Salman Tahir, 33, of Oklahoma City reportedly cooperated with the suspect.

The suspect took money from the cash register before shooting the video monitor.

He then shot Tahir in the back.

The suspect is last seen walking south from the business, surveillance video shows.

The victim was discovered by a customer a brief time later and transported to an Oklahoma City hospital where he died from his injuries.

The suspect is described as being in his late teens or early twenties with dreadlocks and dressed in black pants and a dark hooded jacket.
