Arctic cold front to move through into Black Friday

Although severe weather is not expected, heavy rain is possible and could create travel issues going into this weekend.

A powerful arctic front will move through later Thanksgiving Day, resulting in a change from cold rain to freezing rain or sleet in far western Oklahoma early Black Friday morning.

Scattered cold rain showers will continue Black Friday during the day. Highs will only reach the mid to upper 30s with a strong north wind. Wind chills will be in the 20s both Friday and Saturday!

Bedlam weather is expected to be pretty nasty. Saturday’s highs will reach the mid 30s, and freezing rain will continue for western Oklahoma Saturday morning.


Light ice is possible for OKC tomorrow night and early Saturday morning for a brief period of time.  Cold, soaking rain will gradually move east Saturday afternoon. Parts of southeastern Oklahoma could see a half a foot of rain through Sunday! OKC could see 4″ of rain!
