Minco schools closed for the rest of the week due to flu, strep throat outbreak

MINCO, Okla. – One Oklahoma school will keep its’ doors closed through the week after a flu and strep throat outbreak.

Minco Public Schools officials say about 50 kids are out sick, and most of them are elementary school students.

Most parents say they agree with the school district’s decision to cancel classes.

School officials made the call to cancel classes to keep kids from getting sick.

Meanwhile, crews are scrubbing down the schools and disinfecting the classrooms.

Officials say school will resume on Monday, January 19.
