UPDATED 9/15/2014 7:29 a.m. Miss Oklahoma, Alex Eppler, made it to the top 10 competing in the evening gown and talent competitions.
In the end Miss New York, Kira Kazantsev, took the title and a $50,000 scholarship. This is the third year in a row a Miss New York has won.
Miss Oklahoma, Alex Eppler, of Edmond, was among the top 10, but did not make the cut into the top 5.
Eppler, who also was Miss Enid, won the pageant’s swimsuit competition Wednesday night.

9/11/2014 – OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma beauty queen has won a preliminary award at a prestigious national pageant.
Alex Eppler, who was crowned Miss Oklahoma, is currently competing in the 2015 Miss America Competition.
On Wednesday night, Eppler was the preliminary ‘Lifestyle and Fitness’ winner.

Eppler graduated from The University of Oklahoma before becoming a teacher at The Academy.
She taught 8th grade physical science, 9th grade Earth science, 10th grade biology, 11th grade chemistry and 12th grade physics.
After finishing her reign as Miss Oklahoma, Eppler plans to become a physician’s assistant.
The competition will end on Sunday, Sept. 14.
