NICHOLS HILLS, Okla. — A defense attorney who lives in Nichols Hills is once again tangled in some trouble with the law.

Nichols Hills police arrested 40-year-old Amy McTeer Aug. 8 after she allegedly crashed into an 86-year-old woman.

Both McTeer and the elderly victim were behind the wheel of their vehicles when Nichols Hills police said McTeer rear-ended the victim’s vehicle near 6400 Avondale Dr.

Police suspect McTeer was high on methamphetamine at the time.

McTeer agreed to a blood test.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is testing the sample.

McTeer was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a DUI complaint the night of the crash.

Wednesday, Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater filed one misdemeanor count against McTeer for her alleged role in the injury accident.

It is McTeer’s fifth criminal charge in the past two years.

Her law license was suspended earlier this year because of her own personal legal troubles.

McTeer is facing felonies and misdemeanors in Canadian County, Logan County and Oklahoma County on a variety of crimes including charges for harboring a fugitive, public intoxication, DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McTeer is currently out on bond awaiting court appearances in her five pending criminal cases.

She will make appearances in Logan County and Canadian County courts in Sept. on two different criminal cases involving public drunkenness and allegedly breaking her boyfriend out of prison.

McTeer’s next appearance in Oklahoma County Court is in Oct.

We attempted to contact McTeer for this story; she did not answer the door at her Nichols Hills home.

We contacted several defense attorneys listed as her representation on various legal documents, all of them denied currently representing her.
