GLEN ROSE, Texas – A Texas toddler is recovering from serious burns after police say her mother placed her in an oven.

Deputies rushed to a home in Glen Rose after receiving a report of a child who had been burned.

Officials with the Somervell County Sheriff’s Office told FOX 4 the child’s mother, 35-year-old Tasha Hatcher, admitted to putting the 2-year-old little girl in an oven.

However, the sheriff would not elaborate further.

Now, the girl is being treated for second and third degree burns across 60 percent of her body, family members told FOX 4.

Hatcher was arrested and is now charged with injury to a child.
