FLORIDA – A Florida mother claims her daughter captured an image of a child ghost riding in their car.

Melissa Kurtz, 48, was driving down the road with her 13-year-old daughter when the teenager became bored, Daily Mail reports.

The teenager started taking selfies and captured what Kurtz believes is the ghost of a child sitting in the backseat of the car.

“I didn’t notice it until about a month later when I was going through my camera when taking pictures for something else,” Kurtz told Daily Mail.

The teen took multiple pictures, but the ghostly figure only appeared in one of them.

The woman said she researched the stretch of road and found there had been a deadly car accident in that area a year earlier.

“Where the picture was taken there was an automobile accident one year ago exactly. When I looked into it, someone had been medevacked away in a helicopter,” she told Daily Mail. However, they would not tell me any specific details when I enquired, which leads me to believe that it was a child, as that might be why they couldn’t provide the information.”

Kurtz reportedly turned the photo over to paranormal investigators who analyzed the image.

According to Daily Mail, Greg Pocha, who is the director of parapsychology, afterlife and paranormal studies at Eidolon Project Canada, believes the possible ghost may have been warning Kurtz’s daughter to wear a seat belt.

“[It] occurred to me that the ghost may not be flashing a piece sign, as earlier thought, but rather pointing to your daughter’s seat belt harness,” he said. “‘The warning may be that she should be wearing one when in a car.”
