MEMPHIS, Tenn —

A photo showing two young children with duct tape over their hands and mouths has gone viral.

A Facebook user Jaton Justsilly Jaibabi posted a picture of the two children in a vehicle in Memphis, Tennessee.

The caption on the photo reads, “kids for sale, 45 percent off because they bad.”

Jaibabi has since deleted her Facebook account. Memphis Police has opened an investigation after learning of the picture Thursday evening.

The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services has limited information but is researching the incident before launching an inquiry into the family.

Jaibabi’s cousin, Derion King said the picture was just a practical joke in a post on Facebook.

“I don’t really to much care about the people they have opinions. Our family and friends know the love we have for all the kids in our family it’s just crazy that out of a whole lifetime they judge a person off of this one event. Basically a joke at the moment that people just went overboard about. People make mistakes and that’s what this situation is, a lesson learned. They are safe, unharmed, and loved that’s, all it is to it.”
