Motorcyclist killed in crash on Pontotoc County road

ADA, Okla. – Authorities say a 32-year-old Ada man was killed when his motorcycle collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Fred E. Ray Smith died in the crash Tuesday on State Highway 3W in Pontotoc County. According to a preliminary report, Smith was trying to pass another vehicle and crashed into an oncoming vehicle.

The report says Smith was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the oncoming vehicle was treated for his injuries at an Ada hospital.

The highway patrol says it was cloudy at the time of the collision and the roads were dry.
