Nearly 30 injuries, 9 deaths in Baltimore shootings during Memorial Day weekend

BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore saw another surge of violence after an outburst of shootings on Memorial Day weekend.

Police say 26 people were shot over the weekend, 9 of which were recorded as fatalities. Reports say one man is still in critical condition after being shot in the head.

Reports say May is the deadliest month for Baltimore since 1999.

Among the wounded: a 17-year-old male was shot in the arm, and a 9-year-old boy was shot in the leg, according to CBS Baltimore.

No arrests have been made in regards to the shootings, and police have not released the names of any of the victims.

No word on what sparked the outbreak of shootings that started over the weekend and spilled into Monday.
