MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - Two people were rushed to the hospital Tuesday evening after a van crashed through the front of a Midwest City home.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. at a home in the 2500 block of McIntosh.

The home sits at the end of a "t" intersection and instead of turning left or right, the driver kept going straight and crashed right into the home.

"I thought something exploded. I didn't know what happened. It's crazy," said James Adams.

Adams was inside his home just relaxing on his sofa when he heard the loud noise.

"Boom! Hit the house and before you know it, I'm in the kitchen. It knocked me from the living room to the kitchen," said Adams.

Adams' wife and 27-year-old daughter were also home at the time.

His daughter had to be taken to the hospital.

"She was covered under rocks and bricks," said Adams. "She was bleeding from the head."

Neighbors say cars speeding down these streets is becoming a chronic problem.

"It was going and it missed the turn. And they said she sped up real quick so it sounds like she missed the brake and hit the gas," said Kathleen Cline. "People come riding down the street, they're doing 35 to 50 miles an hour. It's a street full of kids. We have at least 20 kids just on this block."

Aryele Jenkins was outside and watched the whole thing happen.

"I seen the car flying past and I was like, slow down!" said Jenkins. "They flew into the house and then my momma just heard some girl screaming and I was like oh my God, I was so scared."

Adams is now left with a gaping hole in his house and a huge mess to clean up.

Residents say they plan to work on the problem of how to keep their neighborhood safe from speeding drivers.

The driver of the car was also transported to the hospital.
