OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police have released new information about the standoff inside of a metro hotel that lasted nearly 10 hours.

On February 20, patrol officers located Chad Yeaman’s rental car parked outside of the Extended Stay America hotel on Northwest Expressway.

Officers have been searching for Yeaman since December 2014 when he allegedly broke into a local law office and used a blow torch to crack open a safe.

Police were able to identify him through DNA evidence found on a rubber glove he left behind.

When officers went to his room and attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant, Yeaman allegedly barricaded himself inside of his room and started a fire, which resulted in massive damage.

After officers were able to take Yeaman into custody, he was taken to the hospital to be treated.

He was recently released from the hospital and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
