OKLAHOMA CITY – When you’re running late for work and get stuck behind a trash or recycling truck, it can be frustrating for your commute.

However, state leaders say if you decide to speed around those trucks, you could be facing a fine.

FOX 23 reports that the state of Oklahoma has passed a new law that requires drivers to slow down around trash trucks.

The law went into effect on Nov. 1.

Drivers found violating the law could face a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
