OKLAHOMA CITY –  An Oklahoma pastor who was convicted of first degree manslaughter was sentenced today.

Judge Glenn Jones took the jury recommendation and sentenced Michael Elder to 15 years in prison for first degree manslaughter.

Elder was convicted of first degree manslaughter in early March.

He claims he shot and killed a man to protect his daughter during a domestic dispute.

However, the jury was not convinced Elder was afraid for his daughter’s life.
