OKLAHOMA CITY – When having a little one, many parents plan ahead for their college.

However, a new study shows you may need to prepare for daycare before ever thinking about a university.

A report by Child Care Aware America, and published by the Washington Post, shows that families in 31 states pay more for daycare than college.

According to the Washington Post, the largest gap is in New York, where daycare will cost nearly $15,000 but in-state college tuition is $6,500.

The study shows parents in the Sooner State will also pay more for daycare than college.

It lists the average daycare cost at $7,480-a-year, while you may pay $6,350-a-year for college tuition.
