MICHIGAN –

A Michigan woman is experiencing the road trip of a lifetime after refusing chemotherapy and surgery being diagnosed uterine cancer.

Norma, 90, found out about her diagnosis just two days after her husband of 67 years died.

Doctors recommended chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, according to  Today. However, Norma did not want to go through any medical procedures.

Instead, Norma decided to take her son, Tim, and her daughter-in-law, Raime, on the road to travel the country together.

The trio posts regular updates of their travels on their Driving Miss Norma Facebook page.

Raime, who spoke on behalf of the family and asked their last names were withheld, said her family is witnessing an entirely different woman.

“We see a spark in her eye that we haven’t seen in a very long time. She’s up for most anything.”
