GUTHRIE, Okla. - A Guthrie man fights for his life after a vicious assault over the weekend.
Family of Antonio Taylor have not left his bedside, telling NewsChannel 4 he's been placed in a medically induced coma.
"It didn't look like him. It wasn't like him to be just laying there," said Rovena Park, Taylor's cousin.
It all started Sunday morning in a home in south Guthrie.
Authorities said, while staying at a friend's house, Taylor was brutally beaten by another man, leaving behind a bloody scene.
"I got the phone call at about 4 in the morning, saying that I needed to pull over," said Maggie Bostwich, Taylor's cousin. "No one could tell me whether or not he was alive."
Bostwich was in Utah at work and drove cross country at the crack of dawn.
Now, she along with her cousins and a host of other family members are staying in the hospital.
Though details surrounding the assault remain murky, the person responsible remains on the run.
"Just like a monster to do something like that to another human being," said Whitley Taylor-Powell, Taylor's cousin. "It's not right."
The Logan County Sheriff's Office has requested an arrest warrant for a suspect in this case.
