Noble County district attorney to determine if deadly shooting was justified

NOBLE COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities in Noble County are investigating whether a deadly shooting was in self defense.

On Sunday afternoon, the Noble County Sheriff’s Office asked agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to help look into a deadly shooting in the 6000 block of N. Antelope.

Investigators say it appears that the man and a woman who lived inside the home got into a physical altercation.

At some point, the woman shot the man.

Authorities say 40-year-old Richard Lee Bryer died at the scene, but say the woman was not arrested.

However, the case has been submitted to the district attorney, who will determine if the shooting was justified.
