CHANDLER, Okla. — An offensive photo sent out on social media during a school skit at Chandler High School is going viral.

"I was mad, and I decided this needs to be taken care of," Ashley Warner told News 4. "It's a problem."

Warner said that was her reaction when she first saw the offensive photo of her brother acting in the skit at Chandler High School.

"My brother is in Positive Peers, which is a group within the school that tries to promote within the other students, you know, good things," Warner said.

The photo includes Warner's brother wearing a prison uniform with the caption “N***er for auction in Chandler Oklahoma, starting bid $50” and a Confederate flag on the bottom.

Ironically, Warner said the skit was about bullying - not related to the subject in the photo.

"I was like why? In my head, I'm thinking why?" she said. "Nobody deserves that. That's not cool at all."

She was outraged. She posted to Facebook saying, in part: "I know bullying happens. I was bullied all throughout school, but it seems to happen a lot more in Chandler schools than it should."

Her post has been shared hundreds of times.

"It's sad," Warner said. "To think that this is something we are still going on with and facing, it's just sickening and to see our children being the ones, I mean you gotta be teaching them that. They don't just pick that up."

She said she heard the student who posted the photo was suspended and the school will be having an assembly  to address the issue.

We called the superintendent to confirm that, and he has not yet returned our calls but Warner said she hopes this is a first step toward change.

"This town, we have a lot of mixed races here and, sometimes, it feels a lot like it's separated," Warner said.
