Off-duty officer involved in Tulsa shooting

According to Tulsa police, the man who allegedly assaulted the woman outside of the Garth Brooks concert pulled a gun on the approaching police officer.

They say that's when the off duty Oklahoma City police officer reached for his own gun. The officer then fired six rounds, according to reports.

Tulsa police say the suspect from the domestic dispute was transported to the hospital where he later died.

TULSA, Okla.-- A shooting in Tulsa has sent one man to the hospital in critical condition.

It all started when an off duty police officer and his family were on their way to the Garth Brooks concert.

As the family was walking into the concert, they witnessed a domestic dispute. They said a man was on top of a woman, so the officer went to break up the fight.

That's when the suspect involved in the domestic violence allegedly began fighting with the officer.

Tulsa Police Department's Sgt. Walker says the aggressor pulled a revolver. The officer allegedly fired at the man.

EMSA confirmed that a 25-year-old man has been sent to the hospital in critical condition.

Tulsa police say the officer involved was not injured and will be taken to the station to begin investigation.
