OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma highway was shut down on Sunday morning after a body was discovered in the northbound lanes.

Just before 1 a.m., witnesses reported seeing a body lying on I-35 at S.E. 36th St. in the northbound lanes.

Several people said they even had to swerve to miss hitting the body.

Officers quickly arrived and closed down the highway for a couple of hours while they investigated.

Authorities say a 54-year-old man was standing on the inside shoulder of I-35 when he walked in front of a vehicle and was hit.

His name has not been released.
