Officials are warning Oklahomans about a potential phone scam

CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities are warning Oklahomans about a potential phone scam.

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call from a citizen who claims a man is impersonating a deputy.

According to the citizen, a man named “Lt. Shipley” called and said that there was a warrant issued for the citizen and they needed to pay the fine.

CCSO says they do not have any employee named “Lt. Shipley.”

If anyone receives one of these phone calls, hang up and call CCSO at (405)701-8888 to report it.
