OKLAHOMA CITY – Fire officials are calling it a tragic accident after crews found the body of an elderly man inside an Oklahoma City home.

Around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, firefighters were called to the 2700 block of S.W. 51st St. following an automatic alarm call.

When crews arrived, they found smoke pouring from a home.

Once the fire was out, they found the body of an elderly man inside the house.

Homicide and fire investigators were looking into the man’s death but say it is believed to be a tragic accident.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office will release an exact cause of death once a report is finalized.
