OKLAHOMA CITY - Officials say a child was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital after getting into a backyard pool on Friday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, emergency crews were called to a possible drowning at a home near S.W. 53rd and May Ave.

One man who was working nearby saw the incident unfold.

"I was out here working, and a guy came out on the phone screaming and hollering. Next thing I know paramedics and cops and everyone showed up,” said Kyle Dearman.

Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department say a child jumped into a pool at the home and began to struggle.

A bystander was able to pull the child to safety before emergency crews arrived on the scene.

"They went in, and brought a little infant baby out and rushed out of here,” Dearman said. “I didn’t know what was going on, I hear sirens, everyone came around the corner, and pulled up and took care of it. They were in and out pretty fast.”

The victim was taken to a local hospital in fair condition.
