Tragic semi accident claims the life of an Oklahoma man

Troopers are no longer on the scene. However, clean up could go late into the night.

UPDATE 3:00 p.m. 8/9/2014

According to Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the right lane of southbound I-35 is closed between NE 50th St. and NE 36th St. for cleanup of the early semi accident. On and off ramps remain open.

Drivers can expect delays and should avoid the area if possible.

Crews estimate the lane will be closed into the late evening.

OKLAHOMA CITY – One is dead following a tragic semi rollover accident in Oklahoma City.

Authorities have closed down lanes on I-35 southbound near NE 50th in Oklahoma City.

Emergency crews responded to the accident just after 11:10 a.m.

HazMat is on scene looking at a possible vapor leak.

Initial reports indicate that the semi was carrying two trailers.

The driver of the semi was pronounced dead on scene.

Officials have not stated the cause of the accident.

Those traveling should expect delays.
