OKLAHOMA CITY – Firefighters discovered a body while putting out a house fire in southwest Oklahoma City over the weekend.

Fire crews were called to a home near S.W. 18th and Penn around 9 a.m. Sunday.

When firefighters arrived they found thick smoke coming from the home.

As they were searching the home, crews discovered a woman’s body.

On Monday, officials identified the woman as 52-year-old Mischa Goulsby.

Authorities say the fire started in the kitchen.

Initially, officials did not expect foul play.

However, the medical examiner discovered that Goulsby suffered injuries to her body that are consistent with homicide.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide tip-line at (405)297-1200.
