LONE WOLF, Okla. – Kiowa County authorities are looking for two suspects who broke into a convenience store and stole an ATM.
“It’s kind of like a violation,” said Chris Poindexter, the owner of CJ’s Convenience Store.
Poindexter said they’ve had a few petty thefts in the past but nothing like this.
“We had a breach, so we just thought it would be a false alarm. My wife responded and, when she got here, we live five miles south of here, when she got here, there was just glass all over the front parking lot,” Poindexter said.
Surveillance video captured a man busting through the front door, putting a chain around the store’s ATM and hauling it out.
You can see another suspect come out of a vehicle parked outside and help load it into the back of the truck.
“Looks like they’ve done it a time or two and since it’s happened at a bank in the next town. The same thing happened the same way. They came in, they put a chain around a vehicle and ripped the ATM out of the concrete. That’s the same thing they did here,” Poindexter said.
Authorities said they’re not ruling out the fact this could be the same suspects from that case.
“I just want them apprehended,” Poindexter said.
Poindexter said the damages will cost him a couple thousand dollars to repair.
He’s hoping the surveillance video will help somebody recognize the crooks.
“We’ve had some theft around this area lately, and we just need to put a stop to it and, if we can have people help identify the suspects, it would really help us out a lot,” Poindexter said.
