Officials release preliminary damage report following Moore tornado

MOORE, Okla. – City officials in Moore say they are still surveying the damage left behind by Wednesday night’s storms.

On Wednesday evening, a tornado tore through town, destroying homes and businesses in its path.

Amazingly, no one was killed from that storm.

On Friday, officials released a preliminary damage assessment for the area.

The report is as follows:

  • 17 homes destroyed
  • 25 homes with major damage
  • 71 homes with minor damage
  • 1 multi-family unit with minor damage
  • 3 multi-family units affected.

One man died during a similar storm in Sand Springs.
